Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Zhang Hongtu could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work Dong Qichang - Cezanne #6 changed hands for USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,193.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhang Hongtu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 137,117.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Hongtu konnte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia wechselte die Arbeit Dong Qichang - Cezanne #6 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.193,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Hongtu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 137.117,37).
