Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yusuf Grillo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Crucifix sold for GBP 237,750.00 (€ 279,295.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yusuf Grillo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of GBP 403,500.00 (€ 459,059.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yusuf Grillo erzielte im März 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wurde die Arbeit Crucifix für GBP 237.750,00 (€ 279.295,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yusuf Grillo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 403.500,00 (€ 459.059,19).
