Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Blind Minstrel (Framed) by Yusuf Grillo was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 189,300.00 (€ 215,365.31). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yusuf Grillo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed), which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 403,500.00 (€ 459,059.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Blind Minstrel (Framed) von Yusuf Grillo wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 189.300,00 (€ 215.365,31) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Yusuf Grillo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 403.500,00 (€ 459.059,19) versteigert wurde.
