Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yusuf Grillo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work The Dancing Bride, circa mid-1960s sold for GBP 350,250.00 (€ 415,260.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yusuf Grillo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of GBP 403,500.00 (€ 459,059.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yusuf Grillo erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wurde die Arbeit The Dancing Bride, circa mid-1960s für GBP 350.250,00 (€ 415.260,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yusuf Grillo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 403.500,00 (€ 459.059,19).
