Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Eyo by Yusuf Grillo. It changed hands for a price of GBP 226,800.00 (€ 268,696.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 180,000.00 – 240,000.00. Other works by Yusuf Grillo have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March this year the work The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) was auctioned for GBP 403,500.00 (€ 459,059.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eyo von Yusuf Grillo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 226.800,00 (€ 268.696,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 180.000,00 – 240.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Yusuf Grillo konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März diesen Jahres die Arbeit The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) für GBP 403.500,00 (€ 459.059,19) versteigert.
