In March 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Ayi and Tayi by Yusuf Grillo. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 225,250.00 (€ 264,610.73), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yusuf Grillo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of GBP 403,500.00 (€ 459,059.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ayi and Tayi von Yusuf Grillo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 225.250,00 (€ 264.610,73) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yusuf Grillo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Seventh Knot, 1969 (Framed) im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 403.500,00 (€ 459.059,19).
