In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th and 21st Century Art Morning Session, which included the work Portrait Of Dorr Bothwell by Yun Gee. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,375,000.00 (€ 251,055.85), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yun Gee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old Broadway in Winter in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 58,600,000.00 (€ 6,402,313.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Dorr Bothwell von Yun Gee zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.375.000,00 (€ 251.055,85) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yun Gee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Old Broadway in Winter im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 58.600.000,00 (€ 6.402.313,62).
