Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Man with Beard by Yun Gee. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,124.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yun Gee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old Broadway in Winter in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 58,600,000.00 (€ 6,402,313.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man with Beard von Yun Gee zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 604.800,00 (€ 73.124,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yun Gee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Old Broadway in Winter im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 58.600.000,00 (€ 6.402.313,62).
