Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Georgia O'Keeffe by Yousuf Karsh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,860.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yousuf Karsh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fifteen Portraits in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,970.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Georgia O'Keeffe von Yousuf Karsh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.860,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yousuf Karsh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fifteen Portraits im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.970,84).
