In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Classic Photographs, which included the work Georgia O'Keeffe by Yousuf Karsh. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,654.59), 44% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yousuf Karsh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fifteen Portraits in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,970.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Classic Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Georgia O'Keeffe von Yousuf Karsh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.654,59) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yousuf Karsh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fifteen Portraits im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.970,84).
