Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection, which included the work Georgia O'Keeffe by Yousuf Karsh. The price achieved of USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,666.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yousuf Karsh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fifteen Portraits in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,970.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Georgia O'Keeffe von Yousuf Karsh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 5.666,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yousuf Karsh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fifteen Portraits im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.970,84).
