Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thank You, from The Help Portfolio by Yinka Shonibare was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in January 2024. The price achieved of GBP 889.00 (€ 1,487.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yinka Shonibare achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Lantern Kid in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 283,694.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Thank You, from The Help Portfolio von Yinka Shonibare wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 889,00 (€ 1.487,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yinka Shonibare erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Lantern Kid im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 283.694,13).
