The work Pedagogy Boy/Boy by Yinka Shonibare was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 86,360.00 (€ 81,058.76), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yinka Shonibare - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Lantern Kid, which sold at auction in December 2018 for USD 325,000.00 (€ 283,694.13).

Die Arbeit Pedagogy Boy/Boy von Yinka Shonibare wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 86.360,00 (€ 81.058,76) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Yinka Shonibare mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Lantern Kid beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für USD 325.000,00 (€ 283.694,13) versteigert wurde.
