Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Furietti Old Centaur by Yinka Shonibare was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 60,960.00 (€ 69,999.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yinka Shonibare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Lantern Kid in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 283,694.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Furietti Old Centaur von Yinka Shonibare wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 60.960,00 (€ 69.999,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yinka Shonibare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Lantern Kid im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 283.694,13).
