Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Y. Z. Kami was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,438.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Y. Z. Kami achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Maryam) in November last year with an auction result of USD 153,720.00 (€ 148,910.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Y. Z. Kami im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.438,61) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Y. Z. Kami erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Maryam) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.720,00 (€ 148.910,20).
