In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Blue Dome II by Y. Z. Kami. The »bidding war« ended at USD 69,850.00 (€ 65,562.23), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Y. Z. Kami - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Maryam), which sold at auction in November last year for USD 153,720.00 (€ 148,910.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Dome II von Y. Z. Kami zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 69.850,00 (€ 65.562,23) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Y. Z. Kami mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Maryam) beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 153.720,00 (€ 148.910,20) versteigert wurde.
