In February 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Xu Wentao. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,539.80), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xu Wentao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Human Form Series No. 13, which sold at auction in October 2010 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,569.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Xu Wentao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.539,80) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Xu Wentao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Human Form Series No. 13 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.569,17) versteigert wurde.
