This artwork by Xu Wei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2015. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Scholar and His Goose sold for HKD 2,080,000.00 (€ 240,559.44) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xu Wei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Various Objects sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of HKD 3,276,000.00 (€ 364,409.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xu Wei erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Scholar and His Goose für HKD 2.080.000,00 (€ 240.559,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.000.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xu Wei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Various Objects im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 3.276.000,00 (€ 364.409,63).
