Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Flowers In Ink by Xu Wei. The price achieved of HKD 1,080,000.00 (€ 112,469.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xu Wei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Various Objects, which sold at auction in October 2021 for HKD 3,276,000.00 (€ 364,409.63).
