Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Palm and Bamboo by Xu Wei. The price achieved of HKD 180,000.00 (€ 17,455.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Various Objects in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 3,276,000.00 (€ 364,409.63).
