This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xu Wei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Various Objects sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of HKD 3,276,000.00 (€ 364,409.63).
