This artwork by Xiao Yuncong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction, the work Landscape sold for USD 298,000.00 (€ 265,171.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xiao Yuncong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Endless Mountains in July last year with an auction result of HKD 8,640,000.00 (€ 1,078,094.49).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Xiao Yuncong erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Landscape für USD 298.000,00 (€ 265.171,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xiao Yuncong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Endless Mountains im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.640.000,00 (€ 1.078.094,49).
