Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Xiao Yuncong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Landscape sold for USD 346,000.00 (€ 322,130.16) - well above the upper estimate of USD 160,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xiao Yuncong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Endless Mountains, which sold at auction in July last year for HKD 8,640,000.00 (€ 1,078,094.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xiao Yuncong erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Landscape für USD 346.000,00 (€ 322.130,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 160.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Xiao Yuncong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Endless Mountains beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für HKD 8.640.000,00 (€ 1.078.094,49) versteigert wurde.
