This artwork by Wu Yisheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Zhong Kui Marrying off his Sister sold for HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,059.35) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Yisheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peacocks, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 9,261.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wu Yisheng erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Zhong Kui Marrying off his Sister für HKD 35.000,00 (€ 4.059,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wu Yisheng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peacocks beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 112.500,00 (€ 9.261,73) versteigert wurde.
