Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Worthington Whittredge could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Going To Town changed hands for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,328.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Worthington Whittredge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pine Cone Gatherers in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 360,500.00 (€ 340,801.66).
