Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Bonhams held the auction American Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Study of Sumacs and Immortals, Autumn by Worthington Whittredge. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,742.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Worthington Whittredge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pine Cone Gatherers in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 360,500.00 (€ 340,801.66).
