Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sikhuliswe kahle by Wonder Buhle Mbambo was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,528.38). Admittedly, works by Wonder Buhle Mbambo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hearts in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 151,488.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sikhuliswe kahle von Wonder Buhle Mbambo kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.760,00 (€ 30.528,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wonder Buhle Mbambo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Hearts im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 151.488,92).
