Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Winston Branch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work When I need my Father's Eyes sold for GBP 126,000.00 (€ 149,387.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Winston Branch; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Magic is in You sold at auction in October this year with the realized price of GBP 239,400.00 (€ 274,897.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Winston Branch erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit When I need my Father's Eyes für GBP 126.000,00 (€ 149.387,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Winston Branch; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Magic is in You im Oktober diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 239.400,00 (€ 274.897,71).
