Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work The Royal Institute of British Architects, Portland Place, 1925; and View up Pall Mall by William Walcot. The price achieved of GBP 336.00 (€ 494.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Walcot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 33,793.07).
