In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges, which included the work Provençal farmhouse by William Walcot. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,513.81), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Walcot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 33,793.07).

Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges durch, in der auch die Arbeit Provençal farmhouse von William Walcot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.513,81) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Walcot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 33.793,07).
