Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work The Rialto, Venice by William Walcot. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,851.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Walcot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 33,793.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Rialto, Venice von William Walcot zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.851,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Walcot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 33.793,07).
