In December 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Great Head, Mt. Desert by William Stanley Haseltine. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,315.00 (€ 19,375.30), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Stanley Haseltine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rocks at Narragansett in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).

Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Great Head, Mt. Desert von William Stanley Haseltine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.315,00 (€ 19.375,30) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Stanley Haseltine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rocks at Narragansett im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 600.000,00 (€ 445.997,18).
