The auction ended at the price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,459.56), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Stanley Haseltine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rocks at Narragansett in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).

Die Arbeit Fishermen on the Venetian Lagoon von William Stanley Haseltine kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.459,56) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Stanley Haseltine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rocks at Narragansett im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 600.000,00 (€ 445.997,18).
