Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pulpit Rock, Nahant by William Stanley Haseltine was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 218,500.00 (€ 167,947.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Stanley Haseltine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rocks at Narragansett, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pulpit Rock, Nahant von William Stanley Haseltine wurde im November 2012 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 218.500,00 (€ 167.947,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von William Stanley Haseltine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rocks at Narragansett beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 600.000,00 (€ 445.997,18) versteigert wurde.
