It achieved a price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,208.36), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by William Osborne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The hounds from York & Ainsty Kennels in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 41,645.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of John Poyntz, 5th Earl Spencer (1835-1910) riding with troopers in Dublin von William Osborne wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.208,36) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Osborne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The hounds from York & Ainsty Kennels im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 41.645,70).
