Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Moment Of Liberty by William Osborne was sold in the A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,739.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Osborne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The hounds from York & Ainsty Kennels, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 34,850.00 (€ 41,645.70).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.739,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
