In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Stealing the milk; two terriers in the artist's studio by William Osborne. The price achieved of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Osborne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The hounds from York & Ainsty Kennels, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 34,850.00 (€ 41,645.70).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stealing the milk; two terriers in the artist's studio von William Osborne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Osborne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The hounds from York & Ainsty Kennels beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 34.850,00 (€ 41.645,70) versteigert wurde.
