Auction result misses estimated price range
In July this year a collector was able to acquire the work Past and Present by William McTaggart for GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,400.76). This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William McTaggart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Past And The Present in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Past and Present von William McTaggart für GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.400,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William McTaggart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Past And The Present im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.234,00).
