A top price for William McTaggart - as previously expected
The work The Past And The Present by William McTaggart was sold in the Scottish & Sporting Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in August 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Past And The Present is the most expensive artwork by William McTaggart that we have observed at auctions so far.
