Upper estimate price exceeded by 38 %.
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Autumn Showers by William McTaggart. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,642.56), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McTaggart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Past And The Present in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn Showers von William McTaggart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.642,56) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McTaggart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Past And The Present im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.234,00).
