Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Autumn landscape on the Esk by William McTaggart. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,417.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McTaggart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Past And The Present in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn landscape on the Esk von William McTaggart zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.417,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McTaggart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Past And The Present im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.234,00).
