Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Press Gang by William McTaggart was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2019. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,019.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McTaggart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Past And The Present in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00).

Die Arbeit The Press Gang von William McTaggart kam im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.019,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McTaggart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Past And The Present im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.234,00).
