Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by William McTaggart could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Glenramskill changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,157.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by William McTaggart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Past And The Present in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von William McTaggart konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Scottish Art wechselte die Arbeit Glenramskill für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.157,15) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William McTaggart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Past And The Present im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.234,00).
