Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Studies Of A Hawk'S Hood by William Maw Egley was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,875.00 (€ 3,476.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Maw Egley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Catherine of Aragon in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).

Die Arbeit Studies Of A Hawk'S Hood von William Maw Egley kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.875,00 (€ 3.476,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Maw Egley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Catherine of Aragon im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.422,70).
