Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketch For "Hullo Largess! A Harvest Scene In Norfolk" by William Maw Egley was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,208.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Maw Egley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Catherine of Aragon in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sketch For "Hullo Largess! A Harvest Scene In Norfolk" von William Maw Egley kam im Juli 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.208,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Maw Egley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Catherine of Aragon im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.422,70).
