Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lady Bruce (D. 1891) Seated In A Red Upholstered Chair, In Off-The-Shoulder White Dress With Light Blue Silk Stole Draped Around Her Arms, Gold Pendant Suspended From A Black Ribbon Necklace, Her Brown Hair Plaited And Upswept by William Maw Egley was sold in the IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU auction at Christies in London in July 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,610.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Maw Egley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catherine of Aragon in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lady Bruce (D. 1891) Seated In A Red Upholstered Chair, In Off-The-Shoulder White Dress With Light Blue Silk Stole Draped Around Her Arms, Gold Pendant Suspended From A Black Ribbon Necklace, Her Brown Hair Plaited And Upswept von William Maw Egley wurde im Juli 2005 in der Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU bei Christies in London versteigert.
