In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Catherine of Aragon by William Maw Egley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70), 69% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Catherine of Aragon the most expensive artwork by William Maw Egley that we have observed at auctions so far.
