The price achieved of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,944.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Maw Egley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Catherine of Aragon in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
