Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scene at the Foot of the Allegheny by William Mason Brown was sold in the American Art Online auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. The price achieved of USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,133.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Mason Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Melon, Grapes, Peaches, Pears and Black Raspberries in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 83,650.00 (€ 76,743.12).

Die Arbeit Scene at the Foot of the Allegheny von William Mason Brown wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.480,00 (€ 4.133,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Mason Brown erzielen.
