Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn On A Lake by William Mason Brown was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,997.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Mason Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Melon, Grapes, Peaches, Pears and Black Raspberries, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 83,650.00 (€ 76,743.12).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.997,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
